I was startled the other day by my friend, Reid. Reid and I are somewhat opposites when it comes to our aspirations in life: he wants be a mathematician…I want to be famous in Hollywood and own my own PR firm. Basically, to make a really short story even shorter, while on our respective routes to class, Reid caught a glimpse of my math book (an Algebra & Trig, mind you). Some how my book gave him the impression that I was dumb or something because he scoffed. Okay…seriously?
I’ve come to the conclusion that the hardest person to convince when it comes to your dreams is you. Having unwaivering faith is sometimes difficult when the world around you constantly makes you question whether or not you’re strong enough to pull through.
But after long sleepless hours of debate and deliberation, I’ve made it a point to myself that I am who I want to be. Regardless of my flaws and failures, I have the capabilities of getting and going anywhere. I am thankful for my life everyday, and God knows I’ll be fulfilling my dreams and living my passions not tomorrow but today.
Don’t ever feel that you aren’t good enough or limited to only what others set for you. Education will get you only so far…drive and determination will get you to your goal.
